After months of totally forgetting about its existance, I checked out caseyat10.com tonight just to see if it was even still around. If you remember, this is the website Premiere set up last year around the holiday season to promote the AT10 Christmas Specials, the Casey Kasem Presents Christmas CD, and to encourage listeners to write holiday Long Distance Dedications.
Am I the only one who truly believes someone at Premiere should make the site the official AT10 site. And then have a mirror site or a similar site for AT20. Casey's shows are pretty much the only things I know these days without an official website...and an official website, I believe, would be nothing but good for the shows.
For years now, Premiere has said an official site was "in the works and on the way." The day Ryan's show debuted, AT40.com was born.
It just seems to me Premiere is wasting an opportunity to increase awareness and popularity for Casey's shows. Or is it Casey himself who does not want the shows to have an official website? I doubt it, but it seems that could be it.
I assume there is no new news on an official site, and was just wondering if anyone knew why? caseyat10.com was a great start last holiday season....but it's still there and still the same, which to me is unprofessional. At least take it down after the holiday, rather than have people stumbling on it on a hot July day.

Perhaps the site wasn't as popular as Premiere thought it would be or perhaps no one cares. I do agree with you, Even a graphic that says "Listen to AT10 every week across America" would be better than advertising a Christmas CD and asking for Christmas dedications.

Well, Christmas is creeping up on us, and at10.com still exists. I wonder if they'll make use of the site this year as well. Casey hasn't started yet any Christmas show promotion on AT10.

Does anyone remember when these promos started last year? Seems to me it was around late October.

Scott, it was much earlier than October. In fact in was Labor Day weekend, September 3-4, 2004. It was the AT10 show that featured the spotlight "Title Tracks to Movies." In segment #2 in Hour 1 just before the commerical, Casey talks about the upcoming Christmas shows. Casey says something like, it may be early for the holidays, but at AT10 we are now planning our Christmas programming. Then he tell listeners to write in or email a Christmas memory or LDD. Then he refers to the caseyat10.com website. Speaking of Christmas, some Clear Channel stations are getting ready to switch to all Christmas music the weekend after Halloween. BAH HUMBUG! WNIC website looks like Christmas saying Christmas music coming later this fall. (On the WNIC program schedule it says "American Top 40" with Casey Kasem, oops!) WVMX in Cincinnatti on its on air promos say Christmas Music is coming soon. Thus, no Casey on WNIC for early November. WVMX airs AT20, thus no Casey on WVMX from November until the 1st regular countown in 2006. I was not happy when WVMX had the Christmas music. They were the only station that webcast AT20 Sunday night, the time I could listen to the whole 3 hours of AT20. This year it should be better since OZ FM now runs AT20 Sunday night. I'll start listening to OZ when WVMX flips to the Christmas format.

I read on another website rumors that WNEW in NYC is planning a switch to Christmas music soon. They've been running on-air bumpers saying "Christmas is coming soon."

My guess is Tuesday November 1 will be the first big switch day. Then, over the weeks many will go that route. Then, Thanksgiving Day or the day after everyone else who is switching will make the jump.

I just took a look at the still unchanged caseyat10.com just now, and noticed something interesting. It invites the listeners to send along their holiday Long Distance Dedications. However, both this year and last year when the website was put up - the holiday shows do not feature LDD's. I just noticed this.

Actually, from what I've heard so far, the Christmas shows this year (other than the 11/13 one) are the same ones from last year.

So they are basically doing what Radioman wants them to do minus producing a regular chart version of the show for stations who refuse to go all Christmas?

So they are basically doing what Radioman wants them to do minus producing a regular chart version of the show for stations who refuse to go all Christmas? Bingo. Hopefully that'll change next year. That's on the list of what I want for Christmas that I sent off to Casey Claus!
