Now that AT10 has gotten up and running for a couple of months, I thought it a good time to poll everyone on what they think of the new show.

You left off the "I think it's okay, but don't mind too much if I miss it" option.

I first had my doubts on changing the countdown show from 20 songs, down to 10 songs and adding more extras. However, the AC chart rarely changed. The extras now have songs ranging in 5 different decades (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s). It give the show, a little more variety now. Also, I enjoy all those new AT10 jingles!
I still prefer Caseys AT20 Hot AC show. However, there are many times I can only hear the AT10 show. So, I welcome the changes.

OK, Jeff, stop nitpicking! Hey, it's not nitpicking. There's got to be something between love and hate!

I agree with Jeff! So, I am giving my vote to something inbetween.... Cheers.

So far, it looks unanimous, everyone loves (or at least likes) the show. And I guess that's no surprise. Since there was an averege of one debut a week, hearing the same 18-20 songs each week did get a little boring. And it seemed like many of the debut songs fell out soon after entering the survey. It was always a relief to hear Casey mention a song that had been on forever as a "dropper". While we hear pretty much the same ten countdown songs each week (so far, it's an average of one debut per month), the extras more than compensate for that. This weekend, the AT10 Archive songs were all from the 1960s or 1970s and even the one and only one from after 1979 was a remake of an old sixties song. I liked this week's spotlight, Canadian artists. An e-mail friend of mine said that he hoped Australian artists would be featured soon.

An e-mail friend of mine said that he hoped Australian artists would be featured soon. My suggestion...email your theme suggestions to Casey's staff at casey1110@aol.com.

I wasn't too crazy of the new show at first. I had just started listening to the AT20 AC show back in January, after Casey stepped down as host of AT40, and Ryan took over as host. I mentioned a while back that I'm not much of a fan of AC music, even though I do listen to 2 of the 3 AC station here in Detroit from time to time. Despite my lack of interest in AC music, I started listening to AT20 AC because of my years-long love for Casey, plus the Long Distance Dedications, the hits from years past, and of course, the extras. By February, I had started to get comfortable listening to AT20 AC, but then out of nowhere, they changed the show and it became American Top 10. When AT10 made its debut, I wasn't too crazy about the change, since the show was going to be dominated by extras and they were only going to be playing the Top 10 AC songs and that was it. Well, I gave it some time, and now I love the show. Since I'm not much of a fan of AC music anyway, I really enjoy listening to the added extras, especially the "Theme Extras" which Casey now calls it, "AT10 Spotlight". Like many of you, I feel that the extras gives the show much more variety since the songs on the AC charts don't move very much. I love the fact that the extras consist of songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's 90's and 2000's. It's feels like AT10 has now become its own radio station. The only things that I would change about the show is that I wish Casey would do more LDD's and tell more stories when he does his non-theme extras. I think that AT10 is going to be another huge Casey success.
