Mike Smith,the lead singer & keyboardist of The Dave Clark Five,died this past Thursday at his home in England after a lengthy illness-He was 64-He'll be reunited in rock & roll heaven with fellow bandmate Denis Payton,who passed away in 2006-Along with the Beatles.Rolling Stones,& Herman's Hermits,the DC 5 were part of the first wave of the mid-60's British Invasion-They had 24 singles on the Billboard "Hot 100",which included "Glad All Over","Bits & Pieces","Can't You See That She's Mine","Because",& "Over & Over",which was the group's only # 1 hit-On March 10th,the DC 5 will take their rightful place in The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-Actor Tom Hanks will personally induct them.
