For the oldies radio show, I am missing two 70's tunes that weren't big hits and are difficult to find on cd, if anyone has these songs or ideas on where I can get them...please let me know. Seals & Crofts "You're The Love" Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds "Winners & Losers" Apparently, the Seals & Crofts tune is available on some K-Tel album. I'll do some more checking but even then I really don't have a good way to transfer to cd. Thanks... KD

I have "You're The Love" on CD, and know where to get "Winners & Losers", if you want them sent to you.

Many thanks Mstgator, have sent you an email. I have also discovered I don't have "Street Corner Serenade" by Wet Willie and "Did You Boogie With Your Baby (in the back row of the movie show)" by Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids. In this oldies show, we get a big kick out of playing some long lost oldies and not just the hits. I just read a comment by Seals & Crofts that they hated "You're The Love"...

I found the 2 songs your missing Street Corner Serenade By wet Willie and Di You Booige By flash Cadilac and you're in luck there both on the same Cd "Have A Nice Day Volume 24 and amazon.com has it. If your looking for a good number of hard to lfind 70's hits both the Have and Nice day for pop rock and Didn't It Blow Your mind series are great treasure troves for hard to find 70's hits i have them all and they are an essintial part of my collection. it's a shame the 80's version did'nt take off they started and made five volumes of radio Daze but stoped with hits only going until mid 1981 I would have loved volumes including 1982 as that Was my favorite year for music.

"Dancing In The City" hit #43 on the Hot 100 in early 1979, but was a much bigger hit in the UK. Unfortunately I can't find the song anywhere either. ETA: Did a search on eBay, and there's a bunch of vinyl singles of "Dancing In The City" available for only a few bucks. search.ebay.com/marshall-hain_W0QQfromZR40

Many thanks everyone...mstgator has been able to help me on several tunes. Neat to see that Dancing In The City only reached #43. That is one tune that if I played it, I am probably the only one who would remember it. But...that hasn't stopped me before...I often play "Jungle" by ELO, which never charted that I know of. But, on "Backtracking", we make up our own rules as we go. Fun radio...

I found TWO promotional copies of "Dancing In The City" in my old 45 collection at home. One has cue burns on the first and the other is clear. I'll get the local guy who can transfer from turntable to cd for me copy it. He did "Walking Tall" by Johnny Mathis for me sometime ago. If the station starts streaming (which is what the websites SAYS is going to do...), I'll let you know, so on Sunday nights you can hear Living Next Door to Alice, and other long lost greats.

I mailed it to your wd (at) blueridge (dot) net address...

I understand that Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, the station will try a "test stream" of streaming off the air on our "Backtracking" show. SO...Sunday night we should be on the internet at wcab59.com , you have to click on ON DEMAND. On that page, you have to download a free Winamp file, and go to LISTEN LIVE. Old 1978 radio cohort Pat Nanney will do the show from 6pm until 9pm, I will be on the air from 9pm until 1am...hopefully, we'll ring in the new year with an interesting Auld Lang Syne medley (James Taylor, Stylistics, Beach Boys, etc...). If you hear "Winners & Losers" or "Living Next Door To Alice" sometime during the night, those are straight from mstgator... thanks again...
