Renowned lyricist Will Jennings passed away September 6 at the age of 80. No cause of death was given. Will is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and earned three Grammys and two Oscars during his career. Some of the songs Will wrote or shared writing credits were Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes "Up Where We Belong" (An Officer and a Gentleman) and Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" (Titanic) both of which earned Oscars. "My Heart Will Go On" also earned a Grammy. Other Grammys include Dionne Warwick's "I'll never Love This Way Again" and Eric Clapton's "Tears In Heaven". He provided a boost to Steve Winwood's career during the 80s, co-writing his two #1 hits "Higher Love" and "Roll With It". He also shared writing credits on "While You See A Chance", "Valerie", "Back in the High Life Again", "The Finer Things", and "Don't You Know What the Night Can Do?" He reached the top of the charts with Barry Manilow's "Looks Like We Made It" and Whitney Houston's "Didn't We Almost Have It All". He is survived by his wife, Carole, and his sisters, Joyce and Gloria. Obituary

Four of the songs that Will Jennings wrote went to # 1:"Looks Like We Made It" (1977),"Up Where We Belong" (1982),"Didn't We Almost Have It All" (1987) & "My Heart Will Go On" (1998).
