John Mayall passed away July 22 at the age of 90. Though no specific cause was disclosed, John had been plagued by several health issues in recent years. He only reached the Hot 100 once. John's song "Don't Waste My Time" charted for 3 weeks, peaking at #81 in the fall of 1969. He followed that up with what could be considered his signature song. "Room To Move" (or as John called it his "Chic-a Chic-a" song) only managed to bubble under for a week at #102. John's band the Bluesbresakers was a stepping stone in the development of the careers of Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, Peter Green and John McVie (Fleetwood Mac), Jack Bruce (Cream) and Mick Jones (Rolling Stones). All were members early in their careers. In 2005, John was made an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire). John will be inducted posthumously to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, receiving the Musical Influence Award. Obituary
