Bob Newhart has passed away at the age of 94-He started out as an accountant before he made the transition to stand up comedy-He'll be remembered for two classic TV series "The Bob Newhart Show" (1972-1978) in which he played psychiatrist Bob Hartley & "Newhart" (1982-1990) in which he played a Vermont innkeeper named Dick Loudon-In 1960,Newhart released an album that spent 14 weeks at # 1-It was called "The Button Down Mind Of Bob Newhart"-It was the most successful comedy album of all time-I remember Casey Kasem mentioning that on "American Top 40".

Correction needed 1st post this thread: 80s "Newhart" CBS sitcom ended in 1990, not 1090.

May Bob Newhart RIP. Newhart had one of the most memorable series finales in 1990 that spoofed Dallas!

One of my favorite Bob Newhart quotes… “I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'.” Hilarious… I LOVE country music, but loved Bob's wit. My father, who passed almost 10 years ago, was known to say “I love both kinds of music, Country and Western” :-)
