We lost 2 giants of cinema in the last couple of days.
First Anouk Aimee died on the 18th . Most famous to American viewers for her role on 1966 film “A man and a Woman”, she started her movie career in 1946…

My favorite story about her:
Born Nicole Francoise Florence Dreyfus, her mother took the name Durand during Nazi occupation to escape the round up of Jews by the French police.
When leaving her school one day, she recalled, one of her classmates began to shout: “Elle est juice!” (she's Jewish), as a German officer walked past.
The officer, rather than taking her to the closest police station, took her hand to leave her at her house with her terrified mother.
Two days later, today the 20th, we lost Donald Sutherland. Born in Saint John,NB
(Cabbageville?! as Fonda's Bree Daniel's calls Klute's hometown- pun intended), he
started his acting career in early 60s.
