Have anybody noticed that Saxophone's are rarely heard on hit songs anymore? From the beginning of the rock era to about the late 1990's, that you would here a Saxophone on many hit records. Nowadays, with hip-hop and teen acts dominating the charts, it is extremely rare to hear the sound of Saxophones on hit songs. I guess you would only hear them on Jazz records now.

Not only that, but most of the traditional musical instruments are not involved in today's pop music.
Even the repeated trumpet line in the #1 hit "Hips Don't Lie" I believe was sampled, not played from a real piccolo trumpet player. The same thing with "Crowded" by Jeannie Ortega and Papoose; a flute line but not a real flutist.
Unfortunate!
Bring back BS+T, Chicago, Chase, etc.! Let's hear some real instruments!
