Tomorrow (April 4th) is the 60th anniversary of a once in a lifetime accomplishment-The Beatles occupied the top five positions of the Billboard Hot 100-No other group or artist has since duplicated that feat-The top five songs were 5)."Please Please Me",4)."I Want To Hold Your Hand",3)."She Loves You" 2)."Twist & Shout" & 1)."Can't Buy Me Love"-Seven other Beatle songs also appeared on that week's chart.

I’ve always enjoyed Casey’s introduction to “I Want To Hold Your Hand” during a couple of AT40 specials.
And one of those – the 40 Most Extraordinary British Acts – aired exactly 50 years ago this week.
EDIT: Oops. It was the Most Extraordinary British Hits.

...The Beatles occupied the top five positions of the Billboard Hot 100. No other group or artist has since duplicated that feat... The week of September 18, 2021, Drake swept the top five on the Hot 100, and also claimed numbers 7 through 10. Then, on November 5, 2022, Taylor Swift took over the entire top ten!

How about their #1s during 1964: "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "She Loves You," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Love Me Do," "A Hard Day's Night," and "I Feel Fine." This was all in one calendar year--just phenomenal. This record of six still holds today.

This is an apples and oranges situation of course. Several artists would have had accomplished those feats back in the day had the chart been compiled that way. Drake and Taylor have both barged their way into the top 5 artists of the rock era according to Record Research as a result.

Yes, downloads in the digital age of today, vs. taking your allowance and spending 75 cents to a dollar to buy a 45 record IMO is more impressive than downloads on Apple Music, Spotify, etc.

Jeff,I agree 100% with your post-As someone who used to buy 45's on a regular basis,it was great to hold the actual record in your hands which you obviously can't do with a download.
