Myles Goodwyn, lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for April Wine passed away December 3 at the age of 75. He was the only member to appear on every April Wine album. Myles retired earlier this year due to declining health, performing his last concert March 2 in Truro, Nova Scotia. Obituary

Aw, man. Loved "Roller" and "Just Between You and Me."
I wonder if the next '79 or '81 countdown will include one of them as an OE in tribute.

I did learn from another source that April Wine were from Atlantic Canada. If I remember correctly, very few recording acts from Atlantic Canada have made it to AT40.
Interestingly enough, I learned from someone that April Wine may have some Newfoundland connections - as I learned that at least one of the members was from Newfoundland. If this is true, April Wine may be the only act with members from Newfoundland to chart on AT40.
April Wine were an awesome band, one of the best to hail from Canada.
My most favorite April Wine songs include (many of which were hits in Canada):
"Roller" "I Like to Rock" "Rock Myself to Sleep" "Enough is Enough" "Bad Side of the Moon" (which reminds me of Elton John's "Take Me to the Pilot") "Say Hello" "21st Century Schizoid Man"
Of the above mentioned, only "Roller" made it to AT40. Though two other songs of theirs made it to AT40.
Myles also had two solo hits in 1988 - with the songs "Caviar", a cover version of Lee Michaels' "Do You Know What I Mean" (in which he collaborated with Canadian female rock singer Lee Aaron), and "My Girl" (not a cover version of The Temptations' big hit) - the latter of which was originally titled "Sonya".
I know Myles retired some years ago, but I did learn the band still performed with a different lead singer afterwards. They were scheduled to perform at the Iceberg Alley concerts in September 2021, but that night was cancelled due to Hurricane Larry - which destroyed the performance tents and the remaining concerts ended up moving to Mile One Centre (now Mary Brown's Centre). After the impact, the organizers of Iceberg Alley have since moved the event to June when there is lesser of a chance of storms for Newfoundland during that month, and the temperatures are just right.
A tremendous loss in the world of Canadian talent. Rest in peace, Myles, and thanks for the wonderful tunes.
And didn't Myles retire from the band a few years ago?
