RIP Jean Kmight
Liked "Mr. Big Stuff". Her other 2 Hot 100 singles, The soundalike follow-up "You Think You're Hot Stuff" and "My Toot Toot" were pretty good too.
"Mr Big Stuff" was recorded in Mississippi's Malaco Studions the same time as King Floyd's "Groove Me" in 1970.
Stax Records publisher Tim Whitsett was a fan of both records. He urged Malaco studios to release "Groove Me" as a single and leased "Mr. Big Stuff" for release on Stax.
"Mr. Big Stuff" was sampled on one of my favorite rap, hip-hop songs "AM Radio" by Everclear which bubbled under in 2000.

"AM Radio" hit AT40 in early 2001. I forget exactly where it peaked, but it lasted in the 40 for several weeks.
RIP, Jean.
