Honestly it wouldn't be the *worst* thing in the world. Necessary? Not really. But CHR stations are embracing throwback hits more than they have in the 21st century, and some have even become "CHR Gold" (WKFS Cincinnati is a great example of this) and a showcase of the biggest hits from the past 20 years would fit right in on a majority of CHR stations these days.
I don't think anyone (anyone meaning affiliates and casual listeners) would care about Ryan's 20th anniversary of hosting. But I don't think a 4 hour showcase of music from the past 20 years would turn off CHR programmers like it may have just a few years ago.

The station I listen to the most(since I appear to be one of the people that is driving this new trend) is an R&B throwback station that plays hits from the 90s, 2000s and 2010s. They debuted at the start of 2022 reflecting this new trend. The song that was #1 on that 20th anniversary a few weeks back has just been displaced after 7 weeks on top. Tate McRae's "Greedy" gives way to Jack Harlow and "Lovin On Me" this week.
