I was wondering if someone had a timeline (with show months/dates/years) of the various incarnations of AT40, the Casey shows, the changes in shows, the splits, format canges, etc.
Thanks! Shawn

Some important dates in AT40 history are:
July 4, 1970 - AT40 debuts, with Casey Kasem as host
August 6, 1988 - Final Classic AT40 with Casey Kasem
August 13, 1988 - First Classic AT40 with Shadoe Stevens
July 16, 1994 - AT40 is no longer heard in the USA
January 28, 1995 - Final AT40 with Shadoe Airs
March 28, 1998 - AT40 is revived; Casey is again host.
January 3, 2004 - Casey hosts his last modern AT40
January 10, 2004 - Ryan Seacrest takes over as host of AT40

When do we get Caseys Hot 20? Caseys Top 40? And when do we get the beginning of AT20 and AT10?

AT20 (AC and Hot AC versions) began the same week in 1998 as the revived AT40 with Casey.
The AC show would turn into AT10 in Spring 2004 (someone else may be able to help out with the exact date).

CT40 debuted 1/21/89
Casey's Countdown debuted in 1992. I'm not sure on the date. (May of '92?)
Casey's Hot 20 debuted 11/5/94
AT10 debuted on 3/20/04 I believe.

No one seems to know exactly when CC began, but the earliest known shows are from around May of 92, so that's the going assumption. "The earliest known shows" -- I make this sound like an archaeological dig, don't I?

So, casey's Hot 20 turns into American Top 20? Did this all happen in one week or was there a significant time in between? When was the last CH20 show and the first AT20 show?

>>>July 16, 1994 - AT40 is no longer heard in the USA<<<
I would like to clarify that I believe AT40 was actually heard in the USA until the end of August 1994. At least one station, located in southern California, received programs up to and including the show dated August 27, 1994. I was fortunate to "salvage" these programs directly from the station. Each show was mailed in an AT40 CD shortbox that had (and still has) the station's mailing address label as well as a USPS postmark. In fact, all of the August 1994 programs in my collection were originally shipped to this station. And the accompanying cue sheets are marked as if the station's engineer checked each segment as it aired.
Perhaps someone else can verify AT40's last USA broadcast date(s), as heard on another station.

Short answer: The final Westwood One shows broadcast under the name Casey's Countdown/Casey's Hot 20/Casey's Top 40 were March 7, 1998 (the 2/28 and 3/7 shows were guest hosted by David Perry). The next two weeks, all mention of Casey Kasem was eliminated from the shows, which became The Countdown/The Hot 20/The Top 40. Casey returned on March 28, 1998 with AT10/AT20/AT40, distributed by AM/FM (now Premiere).

I think someone on the old board server actually swore he heard the show domestically until it ended for good.

I was living in Richmond, KY, then and had listened to Casey's Top 40 from Power 94.5 beaming out of Lexington. The station switched to an AC format starting that weekend and aired CC instead, which caught me completely off guard. Don't know if that is the very first CC show or not.

Shawn Did you ever had a look at Rob Durkee's website, the incarnation for this board ? Just wondering ...... If you did so, you find that Timeline section you are asking for. It's not updated in recent times, but it does include most of the key dates from the classic AT40's and the years of change.
