Ok, not to go on a Dees kick again, but Ive been listening to old shows the last week or so... and mainly Dees records (but, for the record, Im a much bigger Casey fan)
But, anyway, in th AT40 book, I thought I recalled reading a passage about the Dees show speeding up some of the songs to make them go faster?
I ask this because I want to know if my record player is broken or if its the show? I have to use the free Audacity program to edit the audio I get from LP and reduce the speed by about 2-3% to make it sound normal.
Now, is it my player or did they speed up the shows in the 80s? i could swear I read this, but cant seem to find it again.
Any info is appreciated. Thanks, shawn

Radio stations have been known to speed up songs 2-3% for time, and have also been known to increase the pitch of a song by 2-3% to make it sound "brighter" (simply raising the pitch does not change the actual speed of the song). Dees may have been doing either of these things on his show. My advice is to play a regular album on your turntable and see what it sounds like.
