You expect some people to live forever and when they die you’re heart just breaks. A true legend in every sense. RIP.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 1993 biopic "What's Love Got To Do With It"-Angela Bassett's portrayal of Tina Turner was outstanding.

This weekend's AT40: The 80's 5/25/1985 show will feature a Tina Turner song: "Show Some Respect".

And this means another 1980s singing superstar is gone. I don't know of any other iconic singers other than Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Boy George who remain. Cyndi turns 70 next month, and Madonna will be social security age in August. Boy George turns 62 next month, but he's had addiction problems.
I bet to say the least, by the end of this decade, we'll have at least Debbie Gibson and Tiffany still with us by the end of the decade.
R.I.P. Anna Mae Bullock. You were simply one of The Best.

She was on a Billboard that I saw on the way to work this afternoon, and at the bottom, it read, of course, "The Best".

RIP. Tina Turner music has taken over and pre-empted currently SiriusXM Soul Town (classic soul station on Ch. 49); it also has a healthy dose of Ike & Tina music. The limited run channel continues until June 2 only. Last year in March 2022, the satellite station had a similar limited run channel dedicated to her music.

Oh, there are still many other major '80's artists still with us, some still touring: Phil Collins (retired and ailing, but still alive) Bryan Adams (performed at the Indy 500 Carb Day Party two days ago) John Mellencamp Pat Benatar Bruce Springsteen John Bon Jovi Huey Lewis Daryl Hall & John Oates Steve Winwood Janet Jackson Paula Abdul Lionel Richie Annie Lennox Kenny Loggins Richard Marx Taylor Dayne Kim Carnes Steve Perry Sheena Easton Billy Ocean Rick Springfield among many others
