I did learn on Wikipedia just now about a group called The Blackout All-Stars, a supergroup consisting of Latin recording artists. The group was famous for their 1997 hit "I Like It" (a remake of Pete Rodriguez's song "I Like It Like That") and involved two familiar recording artists who recorded songs that many are familiar with. I discovered that Sheila E. (famous for "The Glamourous Life" and "A Love Bizarre" in the 1980s) and Grover Washington, Jr. (famous for "Just the Two of Us", a duet with Bill Withers) were involved in the group. George died two years later. However, I never knew George was a Latin recording artist.

No, I can confirm that Luther Vandross wasn't involved with The Blackout All-Stars, unless some credible source says otherwise. Plus, Luther Vandross never recorded any Latin songs.
Also, I found out that "I Like It" was first released in October 1994 for the film I Like it Like That. The song's top 40 run in 1997 (a remix, at that) was likely due to its usage in a commercial for Burger King the previous year.
