On the 12/20/75 show Casey barely mentioned in passing a 28-40 climb for Evil Woman. Twelve notches was spectacular in any week, in any year between 70 and 88.

On this week's Supersized 1975 Eagles flew to a top tenner 9-15 but Casey's voice barely budged.

I referenced this in different posts before, but if you want to see the epitome of selling and non-selling a song spending its first week at number one, checkout the 11/3 and 11/24 shows from 1979. The difference between Casey barely selling "Pop Muzik" and his beautiful selling of "No More Tears" is wild.

The Morning After made a Supersized move 1-9, but it was barely acknowledged by Casey on the 1973 show.

Considering it was a top #15 debut Quiet Casey didn't give Sweet Mary much of a push.

On this week's Supersized 1975 Eagles flew to a top tenner 9-15 but Casey's voice barely budged. That might have been a thing. I remember no drumroll when New Kid In Town hit #1. What a letdown. There were other weeks and other artists with no drumroll, though. It just sounds wrong to not bother with a drumroll, even if a new #1 song has a soft intro.
