One or both of my parents were stuck in the subway. Dorothy Kilgallen died very mysteriously just a day before this and some people believe the blackout was caused to prevent and then overshadow newspaper reports about her death. Wag the Dog. |

My memories of songs that were hits this time of year are especially vivid, maybe even more than summer. All those long evenings spent in our rooms as kids and teens listening to the radio. Do kids and teens even do that anymore? I'm sure many of today's teens spend time alone in their room, but probably on their computer or gaming platform as opposed to the radio (and with the internet, they're probably not alone even though they may physically be alone). I spent quite a bit of time with the radio, growing up. Many times, I chose it over the Atari (and later, Nintendo). |
