Last Wednesday, I finally got Pete Battistini's book, "American Top 40 With Casey Kasem (The 1970's). I have spent the last 4 days reading the book, and I found some amazing things in there. He had some people mentioned about their influence with the show, and many AT40 fans, who are very familiar with this website, expressed their love for the show. There were so many things in the book that I really liked that I can't pick out what is my favorite part of the book. I loved looking at the promos and the letters dealing with the show, and I loved looking at many of the old pictures of Casey, and Pete listed all of the highlights on every AT40 show that aired in the 70's and mentioned all of the radio stations that had AT40 in the 70's.
Message to Pete:
This a great book, and it is better that I expected. I see that you really put in a lot of time getting the book together. Even Casey was impressed. This book showed me a side of the show that I have never seen before. This book could've been written by anybody, but it was written by a man who is just a fan of the show, but not by any fan, a man who is a true expert of American Top 40, and Pete, this book proves one thing, that you are a true expert of AT40. You did a great job Pete. I just hope that somebody does a 80's version of this book. I doubt it if anybody will do one, but you never know. Maybe I could do an 80's version of this book, except I will have to start listening to the AT40 shows from the 80's. Once again, great job Pete.

Thanks to Pete Battistini, Rob Durkee, Shannon Lynn, and Scott Lakefield for keeping the memories alive. I have truly enjoyed the books, the cds, everything...they are great office companions and trip companions. Although I probably need to buy a "clean" copy of Pete's book...I have made a bunch of notes on this one I have.
