As you hear the Christmas AT40/AT20/AT10 shows of Casey's past during the holiday season...what do you think a current AT40 Ryan Seacrest Christmas special would be like? Maybe a countdown of the all time Christmas songs past and present?
Maybe Ryan would mention he was born on Christmas Eve 1974, but not make a wisecrack he was born in a manger.

I think it would probably be based around a countdown of what are currently seen as the 40 most played Christmas songs, which would span a broad length of time, plus a number of extras.
In addition there would be some interviews with relevant artists; Mariah Carey would be an obvious one, as she was on the Tonight Show just last night talking with Jimmy Fallon about her new Christmas-themed book (and she might well have the #1 song on the countdown.)

If you go by spins from Mediabase 24/7 she would be number 1. Here is the top 10 Christmas songs from last year as monitored by Mediabase. 1 MARIAH CAREY All I Want For Christmas Is... 2 JOSE FELICIANO Feliz Navidad 3 BOBBY HELMS Jingle Bell Rock 4 BRENDA LEE Rockin' Around The Christmas.. 5 WHAM! And no wonder on Billboard's Hot 100 in recent years that Christmas songs are allowed on that chart every November-start of January period.

And no wonder on Billboard's Hot 100 in recent years that Christmas songs are allowed on that chart every November-start of January period. Technically, they're allowed anytime they have enough airplay/sales/streaming to be able to chart - but, of course, that's only ever likely to happen during those "November-start of January" periods.

This is all of the stations that go Christmas, not just iHeart stations. Mediabase has a special designation for Christmas music in their database. And no wonder on Billboard's Hot 100 in recent years that Christmas songs are allowed on that chart every November-start of January period. And as a result the same song has hit #1 on the Hot 100 for four years in a row now during that same time of year. (Nobody gets a prize for guessing what that might be.) It's also resulted in some interesting if conditional chart factoids such as indefinitely expanding the chart run of some deceased stars such as Bing Crosby, whose "White Christmas" reenters annually giving him a 96 or 97 year chart run (going back to 1926), as well as some who are still alive and well such as Brenda Lee, who has reached #2 several years in a row with "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" (which only peaked at #14 originally.)
