In honor of Coolio, his last top 40 hit on CT did something that I think is unique. "1,2,3,4 (Sumpin' New)" fell out of the 40 in June of 1996. However, it did not fall out of the top 50 on R&R. Four weeks later, it would reenter the countdown.
Are there any songs that had a longer wait on CT/AT (1998 onward) to reenter the top 40, but actually didn't leave the top 50 in the first place?
While I am thinking about it, did any song reenter more than twice during that time? I remember quite a few reentering, but I don't know of any that did it three times.

I can't think of any that re-entered more than twice, but the runs of two that re-entered twice crossed paths in 2003...
So, in late 2002, Norah Jones's "Don't Know Why" spent a week in the countdown (11/16) at #40. It would fall out, then return three weeks later. It would then stick around for seven weeks, dropping out again on 1/25/03. Seven weeks after that, it would return for one final week at #38, falling out again the next week, this time for good. It did not fall out of the Top 50 any of the three times it dropped out of the countdown.
That one final week at #38, was 3/15/03. On that same week, Blu Cantrell's "Breathe" debuted at #40. It would spend two weeks there, slip out for a week (#41), then return for two weeks, falling out again, then it would return six weeks later. (Final return date: 5/31.) Its final run would last seven weeks, before falling out one last time - only the last time did it also fall out of the Top 50 (actually, it was taken off the chart due to going recurrent that week).

There was also "Still Fly" by Big Tymers in 2002 - that entered AT40, then dropped for several weeks, then reentered for 1 more week.
