For the past year or so,I've been listening to "America's Greatest Hits" with Scott Shannon-If you've never heard this program, let me tell you about it-At the top of each hour,Scott does a top five countdown-It could be the hits from a specific week or songs that have a common thread-The show also has a feature called "Who Did It First" in which Scott will play a brief excerpt of a song from the past that someone else redid a few years later-He also features a one-hit wonder-Finally,he does station shout outs which Casey Kasem did for many years.

When I lived in Detroit, Oldies 104.3/WOMC played "America's Greatest Hits" on Saturday mornings from 6 - 10am.
A few years ago, when Scott featured the Top 5 songs from a particular year, the range of years featured was 1976 - 1990. Soon after that, Premiere started pairing "B" shows with 1973, 1974 and 1975 countdowns. I just checked the weekly posts from "America's Greatest Hits" Facebook page. These days, their featured years are 1978 - 1992. Early 1990s songs fit in well with the show's music... but it makes you wonder if songs from 1976 and 1977 may be losing their appeal little by little over time?
