Brought over from the WW1 folder. This week's (June 18, 2022) CHR AT40 has no debuts, the fourth time that's happened under Ryan Seacrest and the first since October 2013. Was going to catch this show, alas, iHeart still has the June 11 show playing. This is as of late last night.

As I recall, the previous instances of Seacrest Era debut-less weeks are:
1/29/05 9/1/12 10/26/13
These are, of course, for CHR. No idea about Hot AC.

For other AT40 and similar countdowns, there are, as discussed elsewhere on here, 2/19/94 (Shadoe), 9/24/94 (Casey's Top 40), and that's all I can think of for CHR. I'd think there were more for the AC/Hot AC shows, especially Casey's that only counted down 10 or 20 songs.

Shadoe's are 4/17/93, 10/16/93, and 2/19/94. He would have also had 1/15/94 had they not been a week behind on 1/8 and then skipped a week to catch up. (And then, 12/21/91 and 1/28/95 are the weeks with just one re-entry.)

I never knew about the October 16, 1993 episode having zero debuts. It makes sense as to why Shadoe mentioned on February 19, 1994 that shows with no debuts have happened a few times by that point - I had initially thought that the February 19, 1994 show was just the second ever with no debuts and no songs falling out.
Maybe the reason I didn't catch that October 1993 show was due to my interest in top 40 music just starting to slowly decline, or maybe a busy agenda at the time.

Only one debut on last week's AT40 and it's by Sabrina Carpenter. She also enters the top 10 with "Taste". First time an artist has had 3 hits in the top 10 since Harry Stiles did it 2 years ago. Seacrest mentioned that but not this. She has 4 songs on AT40 and none of them are dropping. When did that last happen? And when did an artist last have 3 hits in the top 5. With her 2 hits entrenched in the top 3 and "Taste" moving up 4 spots, she has a shot at that. Along with having 5 hits in the top 40. Those 2 hits in the top 3 will be around for quite awhile giving her ample time to get a 5th hit in there. Seacrest said Akon has the most hits this century without hitting #1. Didn't say how many but played an On the Verge track that could be his first AT40 appearance since 2013. I doubt he relinquishes his distinction as artists whose heyday was over 10 years ago have not fared too well this year...Jennifer Lopez, Eminem, Katy Perry. Played another song from another such artists new album...Gwen Stefani.
Not sure why they still play extras that are hits which recently fell out of the 40. Prefer extras from a few years ago like Ari's "Into You" and "Amazing" that they played. Or "Hold Me Closer". Of all the songs that peaked at 41 over the years, "Tiny Dancer" is my favorite. Glad this updated version finally got it into the top 40 and top 10 a couple years ago.
