C. W. McCall (1928 - 2022)

The "Rubber Duck" has driven his last mile. William Dale Fries Jr. aka C. W. McCall passed away April 1 at the age of 93. His son Bill Fries III previously announced in February that his dad had been placed in hospice care for cancer.

In addition to his wife of 70 years Rena Bonnema, Mr. McCall leaves behind 3 children, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

C.W. Mc Call had one of the biggest hits of the 70's with "Convoy"-Sorry to hear about his passing-Dr.Demento has featured C.W. a time or two on his program-He'll probably do a tribute next weekend.

McCall had A LOT of great songs. Certainly a specific type of songs but great nonetheless. I always liked “Classified”, “Four Wheel Drive” and “Aurora Borealis”… many others as well
