Hi, Do you remember how for the Rick Dees year-end special in the 1990s, for the hot AC versions, they would simply replace hip hop or rap flavored songs with more hot AC songs. Does anyone know for the 1998 year-end countdown, which songs were replaced by hot AC songs and what they were. I recall Mo Money Mo Problems (at # 92) was replaced with You get What you Give and All my Life by KC and Jojo (at # 7) ws replaced by Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. This site www.lionking.org/~shadow/afl/wt40.html has a lot of Rick Dees information, but does anyone know for 1998, which other songs were replaced and what they were replaced with?

Footnote: He continued doing this at least into the 2000s - I caught much of the top half of the 2001 Hot AC show on KKMK last night, and it was definitely the case where many songs were replaced with Hot AC songs, while a lot of the ones that were already Hot AC were simply left in place from where they were on the CHR countdown. (A lot, but not quite all - a notable example: Dido's "Thank You" was #2, whereas on the CHR show that was #13. But Train's "Drops of Jupiter" was #8 on both lists, and "Hanging By a Moment" was #1 on both.)

Cant really help u w/ the HotAC. ONly HotAC shows i have are the '94 show, an '05, '06, '07, '08
CHR was always the show i was aiming for. While i heard HotAC shows on the radio, i generally steered clear of em.
