Mike Nesmith has passed away at the age of 78-Nesmith was a member of The Monkees,a group that was assembled by producers Bob Rafelson & Bert Schneider for a popular TV series that ran on NBC from 1966-1968-Nesmith was known for his trademark wool hat that he always wore-He wrote "Different Drum" which was a top twenty hit in in early 1968 for Linda Ronstadt-Following the demise of The Monkees,Nesmith formed a group called The First National Band which reached the top thirty in the fall of 1970 with "Joanne"-Nesmith later started his own company,Pacific Arts Video-Some speculate that Nesmith helped pave the way for MTV-With Nesmith's passing,Mickey Dolenz remains the lone survivor of The Monkees-Recently,Nesmith & Dolenz appeared at The Mohegan Sun Casino here in Connecticut-From what I heard, the show was fantastic.

I work as an usher at the Atlanta Symphony and Mike and Mickey played there just a few months ago and most of the audience really enjoyed the concert. Sad to think Mike is gone but glad that he got to participate in the 'farewell' tour.
By the way, I always enjoyed Mike's solo Top 40 hit-Joanne.
RIP Mr. Nesmith.

In case you didn't know, Michael Nesmith also produced the music video for Lionel Richie's #1 hit, "All Night Long (All Night)". Hard to believe only one Monkee remains now - who is the sole survivor now?

The other 3 Monkees have all passed in the last 10 years:
Davy Jones (2/29/2012) Peter Tork (2/21/2019) Michael Nesmith (12/10/2021)
I saw their TV series as a kid and enjoyed it.

Mickey Dolenz-If you recieve the Decades channel on cable, they'll be running a Monkees marathon this weekend. Bumping "Here Come The Brides" from the schedule. It's the TV series that made teen idol Bobby Sherman a household name.

Funny you should mention Bobby Sherman-He was a guest star on a first-season episode of "The Monkees" called "Monkees At The Movies".
