Giant cell carcinoma took the life of Billy Hinsche Saturday November 20 at the age of 70. A long time sideman with the Beach Boys, Billy also had Hot 100 hits with Dino Martin and Desi Arnaz Jr. in the trio Dino, Desi, and Billy.
Billy's mother Celia also died yesterday. She was 95 years old.
Both passings were confirmed by Lucy Arnaz Jr. on Instagram.
Billy was a backing vocalist on Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me". He also worked with America, Joan Jett and Warren Zevon.
