Here's a syndicated show that predates MTV-It premiered in September 1973-It featured a plethora of top name acts such as The Rolling Stones,The Eagles & Kiss-In New York City,it first aired on WNEW-TV (now WNYW) & then on WNBC-TV where it ran right after "Saturday Night Live".

"Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" aired its final episode in 1981 which turns out to be the same year MTV premiered.

In the early years of "Saturday Night Live",Paul Shaffer did a spot-on parody of Don talking about "Great Moments In Rock History".
