I just remembered that 94.5 KSMB had a custom edit of the pre-Fergie Black Eyed Peas' R&R hit "Request Line". They changed part of the beginning to mention the station.

I was in South Florida when "Heart of Rock and Roll" came out and they had a version shouting Miami, Fort Lauderdale. I was living on Long Island when "Almost Summer" by Celebration was out in 1978, and one radio station played a version that went: We'll be cruisin' 'round the tri state Lookin' good and soundin' great On 99-X FM It's almost summer 99-X FM NYC was the then in late 1970's AT40 affiliate where one time April 1979 AT40 guest host Bumper Morgan worked for.

I remember hearing My Town with a mention of Dallas. Also, Heart of Rock & Roll with a shoutout of "Dallas! San Diego!" at the end.

I just remembered another one and it's rather strange. For Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much," they replaced her mentioning Brad Pitt with Bobby Novosad, the morning show host at KSMB at the time. He's still on, by the way.

“Graduation (Friends Forever)” by Vitamin C had local graduates talking about the future during the instrumental parts.

I haven't thought of this in a while.
In 1978 WICC out of Bridgeport, CT, on 60 AM, had sound-alike singers gush the praises of the station during the intro, leading right up to the first notes of the real singer.
Whenever Carly Simon's "You Belong To Me" plays these days, I still hear in my mind the sound alike from WICC singing: "Alive and feelin' free on W I C C," right before Carly sings, "Why'd you tell me this, were you lookin' for my reaction?"
I know that there was one for JT & ONJ's "You're The One That I Want" with a JT sound alike, but, I swear there were others, and I don't remember them.
God, this is what I remember in the middle of the night?
