I would like to know about the history of the Book of Records segment. I know that it was originally used on AT40 and now it is heard on both AT10 & AT20.

Not exactly sure when it began, but the BOR was a staple of the "classic" AT40 shows. There were even two four-hour specials featuring "pages" from the BOR. One was in 1980 and hosted by Casey, and one was in 1989 and hosted by Shadoe.
The BOR has been "revived" on AT10/20 the past few months, as a sponsored feature. Notice that there is always a sponsored billboard at the top of the segment containing the actual BOR story.

Which of course leads to the question...when the sponsorships run out, does Book of Records depart? You wonder how the sponsorship got paired with that feature.
