Hi,
Does anyone know how Rick Dees did his yearend countdowns in the 1980s? Did he do the Top 86 of '86, Top 87 of '87, Top 88 of '88...or just the Top 4o of those years?
Thanks!

IIRC off the top of my head...the 80s mixed and matched. I.E. some years had just a Top 40, other years he did do a Top X of X.
All I know for sure is: 1986 was the Top 86, straight from R&R. Part One is actually on Rick's phone app right now. 1989...actually I'm not completely sure if that year had any, as he did in fact do a Top 80 of the 1980s. But if 1989 had its own countdown, it would've just been a Top 40 - I do distinctly remember it being mentioned on here that the only large-scale countdown for 1989 was AT40's Top 100.

I have 1985 and 1987 in my collection, and both were only the top 40.

WT40 85, 87, and 88 year end shows were all just a top 40 although Rick also did a number ones of 85 as well. 86 was the top 86, and 89 had no year end countdown, Rick went with a top 80 of the 80s that year although it was interspersed with top hits of 89 as well. The co-host on decade end show was Taylor Dayne.
