W. S. "Fluke" Holland passed away in his Jackson, Tennessee home September 23 at the age of 85. He was the drummer on the legendary "Million Dollar Quartet (Elvis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis) Sun studio sessions. He also drummed on Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes", "Honey Don't", and "Matchbox", songs later covered by Elvis and the Beatles. In the early sixties he began a nearly 40 year relationship with Johnny Cash as a member of his backing band, appearing on albums "I Walk The Line" and "At Folsom Prison". He was dubbed "Father Of The Drums" by Johnny Cash. He has earned numerous awards during his lifetime and appeared on recordings from Bob Dylan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Willie Nelson and many others.
