Check out Ryan's On Air podcast archives for this segment that aired today on Ryan's syndicated On Air show. www.iheart.com/podcast/on-air-with-ryan-seacrest-23996864/I know many of you will forever claim Ryan destroyed AT40 and tarnishes Casey's legacy without care. But as has been demonstrated countless times in the past 16 years, that is so far from the truth it is laughable. And here's another example of that.

Hey, BrettVW - I'll have to listen to that soon. Thanks for the link. I think Ryan has done a great job since taking over the show. While the music (and radio in general) has changed dramatically since the classic AT40 era, some probably associate their displeasure with said changes and tie that in with Casey's legacy. While I prefer the style of the classic era myself, I'm also not one to say Ryan has done anything to diss Casey, or AT40. I've heard the exact opposite, many times over the years. Ryan still is very grateful and appreciative of hosting AT40, even 16+ years into the gig. It's funny how people hate change...I really noticed it this week when my store underwent a reset and remodel, and the clientele (mostly older) voiced their displeasure. Personally, I like the change. But then those same people that are resistant to change, want change elsewhere. I suppose I can relate...off-topic, I'm somewhat of a baseball purist, and don't like many of the recent changes to the game. But I believe that's where a lot of this lies, in the given fact how radio and pop hits today are so radically different, that it pales in comparison to, for example, the classic AT40 era. Ryan and many other radio personalities had to change their style and delivery because of two words that describe the listening population in general: Attention span. And it's shrunk a lot in recent years. That is certainly no fault of Ryan's.
