One of the most recognizable voices in the history of New York radio has been silenced-On Tuesday,the legendary Harry Harrison passed away at the age of 89-Harrison began his broadcasting career in Peoria,Illinois-In 1959,he relocated to New York & landed a spot on station WMCA-Harrison was one of the WMCA Good Guys,which also included Jack Spector,Dan Daniel,Ed Baer,B.Mitchell Reed & Joe O'Brien-In 1968,Harry went over to crosstown rival WABC-He stayed there until 1979-In 1980,he then went over to oldies formatted WCBS-FM where he did morning drive until 2003-Harry will certainly be remembered for saying "Each day should be unwrapped like a precious gift" & "I wish you the best-That's exactly what you deserve"-He will truly be missed by his legions of fans.
