Has anyone heard anything more about Dick Clark's condition? Is he back hosting his AC chart radio show or not? If not is it still Jeff Robbins guest hosting? I saw something about him on some TV special the other day and reminded me I haven't heard anythig new about him since I guess late February.

I haven't heard any news on Dick Clark for a long time now. As far as I know, they are still pumping out old copies of his oldies show "Rock, Roll & Remember" like nothing ever happened.
As for "The US Music Survey", Jeff Robbins is no longer hosting, but now it is being guest hosted each week by Mark Wolengren. There is a link and bio to where he is from on another of the Dick Clark threads on the board. As far as I know, there is still no timetable for Dick's return, and it very well may be out of the question at this point. Mark still mentions Dick in every show, but never gives an update on his status.

If somebody is in his mid 70's, and not fully recovered within 6 months, you can pretty much bet if he'll ever be in working condition again - even if it's "just" speaking loud and clear again. I would be more than surprised, if DC will come back on air. I do wish him the very best, but I don't believe he can make this at his ripe old age.

Since we all on the subject of Dick Clark, last year just before Dick had his stroke, there was talk that he was planning to bring American Bandstand back on the air. What is the latest on American Bandstand's comeback?

dont remember hearing of those plans. I assume someone else would have hosted it, I can't imagine him doing it at his age. Any idea who was on the list to host? Please don't say Ryan Seacrest.

How 'bout Shadoe Stevens? As a sidebar, I believe Shadoe is doing some sort of show for a company called Megatrax. Check out his website at www.shadoe.com for more details. Back to the topic, I do remember hearing about the possibility of AB coming back...Dick was supposed to be involved as producer (or exec. producer), but I know someone else was slated to host it. I think they had mentioned a name, but I don't remember it...but I do know that it was NOT Ryan.

Check out topoftheworld.fm for more info about the show. There's also a demo on there.

Actually, I just listened to the scoped sample hour demo on that site. It sounds pretty good. Shadoe sounds just like he ever did...great. He even ends it with a similar tagline to the one he used on AT40..."This is your friend in the void, the Shadoe" -- but instead of "Bye bye out there," it's "Top of the world to ya!"
What I find most ironic...is that Shadoe is doing a show much like the one that replaced his version of AT40...the World Chart Show.

True, but in this day and age of tight radio formats, I doubt that that show is going to go very far in this country...though it's got a large chance of success in international markets. I'd love to see Shadoe end up on XM or Sirius. They've both got world music channels, and that type of show would do very well on there, I'm sure.

I listened to the little "Top of The World Sample". I'm surprised they are the using the same "Around the World with the Shadoe" jingle that AT 40 used.
