I was driving home from work this afternoon, listening to Sirius XM 60's on 6, when I heard something that made my jaw drop. I actually heard a song by the Shirelles ("Soldier Boy", to be exact). Dave Hoeffel even mentioned them by name afterwards. Does this mean that the legal issues between Sirius XM and the surviving group members have been settled and the group's songs are being played now? Do any of you know any inside information?

Hey, slf. Last night, I e-mailed program director Lou Simon, told him about your discovery, and asked him whether the reintroduction of the Shirelles had anything to do with the legal action, and whether he was "at liberty to discuss" any of that. He wrote back within a few hours, saying simply, "There was a temporary issue regarding the master tapes you're referring to, but it's been resolved." I hope that answers your question.

Thanks Mike for this update--it would be nice to get the Turtles back on satellite radio (especially since they so dominate the 1967 charts).
