Backtrax USA 80's 05/14/05

Maybe it's because I don't really pay much attention necessarily to what is going on, but it has been rare that I have heard someone a host announce one song, and another played(I know it happened to Casey once in the 70's, and Jon Rivers 98 in review for 20 the Countdown Magazine), Kid Kelly announced Def Leppard's Photograph was last week's backwards track which I do believe it was and then played the song....or at least it was SUPPOSED to play, instead they played Def Leppard's "Rock of Ages." You can tell on shows when mistakes like this are made that there is no way the host is hearing the songs as they are played, he wound up intro'ing and outro'ing the song yet the wrong one played and I KNOW he would have known the difference had he heard it.

I noticed it too. I get the 80's show from 8-10pm, and there is another station within earshot that runs it an hour later and I tuned in to listen just to make sure I hadn't been hearing things.

I missed the previous weeks Backtrax....which was the true Backwards Track song? My guess is Photograph was the song intended to be played but for whatever reason Rock of Ages got played.

And yes, I do believe Kid Kelly is quite knowledgeable on music, so there is no way he heard that before it went to CD's and to air.
