Madonna's "Everybody" and "Burning Up" - they were excellent songs from a time when Madonna was a "nobody", before she became a superstar.
Other songs that fit the category of this thread:
"Don't Stop the Dance" by Brian Ferry "Road to Nowhere" by Talking Heads "Enough is Enough" by April Wine (big hit in my country of Canada, though) "I Don't Wanna Dance" by Eddy Grant (hated the video, but the song is a little better than "Electric Avenue") "Industrial Disease" by Dire Straits "Black Sweat" by Prince (I am almost certain this rare favorite of mine from 2006 never made it to Ryan Seacrest's AT40)

That's so cool. I have a favorite Bob & Doug McKenzie song -- "12 Days of Christmas": "On the first day of Christmas My true love gave to me Beer." 🍺🍩

More Lindsey Buckingham - Holiday Road George Harrison - Faster

Off the top of my head: Gap Band "Outstanding" 10,000 Maniacs "Like the Weather" Midnight Oil "The Dead Heart" Amy Grant "Lead Me On" Roxy Music "More Than This" Bananrama (w/ Fun Boy Three) "He Was Really Sayin' Something" Haircut 100 "Fantastic Day" Billy Squier "Don't Say You Love Me" REM "Pop Song '89" U2 "New Year's Day" "Sunday Bloody Sunday" "Gloria" Journey "Stone In Love" "Anytime" Donald f*gen "New Frontier" Eagles "Tequila Sunrise" James Taylor "Mexico" Earth Wind & Fire "Thinking of You" B-52's "Legal Tender" Chic "My Feet Keep Dancing" I could go on for a while, but that's a quick brain dump... Couldn't agree more on both the Shalamar and SOS Band cuts -- those are two excellent songs. Still somewhat of a surprise that "A Night To Remember" didn't crack the top 40. Electric Light Orchestra - Stranger Genesis - Turn It On Again Phil Collins - Inside Out Buckner & Garcia - Do the Donkey Kong Billy Joel - The Stranger The Doobie Brothers - Rockin' Down the Highway The Alan Parsons Project - The Raven Love "Inside Out" -- I don't think Phil released that as a single but if he had, I have to believe it would've been a top 40 hit. "Turn It On Again" and "The Stranger" are great songs too.

I have a few... Pinball Wizard - Elton John (1975) Changes - David Bowie (1972 & 1974) Best Thing - Styx (1972) Hot Love - T.Rex (1971) Hymn 43 - Jethro Tull (1971) Lucky Man - Emerson, Lake & Palmer (1971 & 1972) "Lucky Man" is a great song -- also love ELP's "Karn Evil 9". Not sure if it was ever released as a single?

"Inside Out" went to number nine on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Jacket_Requireden.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Jacket_Required#Singles

Listening to this week's AT40 from 1976 made me think of this thread: I preferred singles 1 and 3 from Boz Scaggs' "Silk Degrees" (the barely Top 40 hit "It's Over" and the just-missed "What Can I Say") to the overplayed "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle." Also preferred the flipside of LTD's "Love Ballad," "Let the Music Keep Playing," to the hit side.
