Two number errors for the 2/22/1986 show: How to be a Millionaire is listed as #35 instead of #33 and Say You Say me right after it is listed at #34 instead of #32.

For next week (3/3/79), it lists Al Stewart at #29 with "Song On the Road", "Lady" by the "Littel River Band" at #21, and the countdown ends with Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Thing I'm Sexy?"
Also it starts by reprinting a letter from Tom Rounds stating "We're installing a new feature in the AMERICAN TOP 40 format this week", referring to opening the show by replaying the previous week's top 3 songs. That actually happened the previous week (2/24/79) and it lists the artists with the top 3 from 2/17.

Two errors from the 4/26/1980 cue sheet: 1) The Question Letter after Him is "Most #1's by male or females?" It could go either way: either " males or females" or "male or female"? 2) Dan Fobelberg is at #33 with Heart Hotels.

Two errors on the 5/16/1987 cue sheet: 1) It doesn't mention that Don't Dream It's Over at #15 is also a LDD song. 2) Jody Watley's first name at #2 is spelled as Jod i. --- The cue sheet for the special aired on 5/28/1988 had a lot of errors. Will the cue sheet for the regular show be the same? Stay tuned. ETA: I just looked at it. They must have used up all their errors on the special because the only errors on the regular show cue sheet is the letter on the first page where every instance of "JcPenney" leaves off the second "E" (assuming the same person who typed out the cue sheet also typed out the letter through dictation).

From 6/28/1986: The second LDD is You're a Friend of Mine by Clarence Clemons & Jackson BrownETA: Just spotted another error on page 4 signifying the end of the first hour: "THEME UP AND UNDER WITH TLAK UNIT ENDING AT..."

1) The last page of the cue sheet for the Book of Records special leaves off Donna Summer's name after Dim All the Lights. 2) The one for the debut show is missing Elvis' The Wonder of You at #9.

7/16/1988: - At #25 is The Colour of Love by Bill Ocean
- At #23 is Chicago's latest hit, I Don't Want to Live With Your Love
- One of the commercials in the final commercial break of the show is an ad for O.B. Fampons

One error from 7/20/1985: It mentions that The Search is Over is a LDD, but does not mention that it's also at #6.

From 7/20/1974, #27 reads, "Be Thanful For What You Got". Also, there are two letters that Casey reads in the show that aren't listed on the cue sheet.

At least one mistake on 7/25/81: #20 is "The Stroke" by Billy "Squire". And while it's not technically an error, I've seldom seen "R E O Speedwagon" written anywhere else with a space between every capital letter, though some of their earlier albums had periods between those letters. AT40's 1981 cue sheets wrote the band's name that way; from 1982 on they used the more usual REO.

^ Maybe they spelled it R E O so people wouldn't pronounce it "ree-o".

^ Maybe they spelled it R E O so people wouldn't pronounce it "ree-o". That's likely the case since 1981 was the first year they were in the Top 40.
