I was listening to the American Top 40 show from September 17, 1977 earlier today, and when I was listening to the song "Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band" by Meco, a thought came into my head. I noticed that Star Wars had 2 instrumental songs that were Top 10 hits. Is Star Wars the only movie that had 2 instrumental songs that were Top 10 hits?

During the AT40 era (since 1970), that's the only instance I know of, although I'm sure during the '50s it probably happened a number of times. As far as I know, there've only been three other movie themes since 1970 to have more than one version hit the top 40: "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind", "Rocky", and "Love Story".

I see that Star Wars has been getting a lot of run of late. This past weekend, Star Wars had their annual convention in Indianapolis, as the movie franchise is in preparation for the new Star Wars movie coming out on May 19.
