I was just wondering if I am just crazy, or if WMTX/Tampa Bay ran the old AT20 AC when they first picked up Casey in January of 2004?
I know for years they were classified as an AC station, but they slowly started becoming a very Hot AC leaning AC, and now they are classified as Hot AC, and still lean a bit towards AC, but Hot AC is definately what they should be.
Anyway...in February of 2004 (the last guest hosted show to date) I was in the area and I swear they ran the AC version of the show. But when I was in the area in March of 2004, they had flipped to the Hot AC show, which they were still running when I was in the area last week.
Just wondering if I am crazy, or if they did start with the AC show when they first picked up Casey and then switched shortly thereafter?

I can't confirm (since I didn't listen much to that station at the time), but they probably did air the AC version for a bit... I know from at least late 2003 until early 2004 they were pretty much functioning as a true AC station. Prior to that (and of course now) they were a Hot AC. In fact, for about a year in 1998-99 they aired AT20 (Hot AC) on Sunday nights before dropping it for some reason (that may have been when they started moving in a straight AC direction). I wasn't even aware they had picked it back up until it was mentioned in a few posts here.

Yeah, they picked it up when Ryan took over AT40 and Casey was no longer being heard on 93.3 WFLZ, or anywhere in the Tampa market.
