By no means am I attempting to toot my own here, but I just wanted to share my enthusiasm that today I received my acceptance for my first radio gig!
I have wanted to do radio since 9th grade, with Casey Kasem and local Cleveland morning show host Danny Czekalinski being my radio role models.
Now, 4 and a half years later, as a freshman in college, I just got accepted for my first gig on my college station. Allegheny College's WARC/90.3 Meadville, PA I will have a weekly two hour show. I will be primarily playing from the station library (alternative and underground) but I can also bring in my cd's for "DJ picks". I hope they don't mind a little bit of 80's pop!
Anyway, again, not trying to toot my own horn, but I just wanted to say I got my first gig. Anyone else in radio here have any "first gig" stories?

Congrats, Brett! I too, remember doing my first college radio show...which was the moment that I had the epiphany that I wanted to work in radio. And do...and I'm extremely thankful for that!
