I saw the episode yesterday evening. Little did I know that it was the premiere episode of the series.
The episode in question was "Dancing to the Maxx".
I think Casey Kasem was chosen to guest appear because he previously worked for NBC narrating the bumpers during the Saturday morning cartoon block - his voice was no longer heard on Saturday mornings later in 1986 when NBC started using sets and celebrities from NBC's prime time sitcoms at the time, including ALF, Amen, Family Ties, etc.
I didn't seem to like Saved by the Bell when they started using beach scenes by Season 3.
Oddly enough, in 1991 or 1992, Harvey Comics - the publishers of Richie Rich and Casper the Friendly Ghost - published a short-lived comic book series of Saved by the Bell.

He was actually in two episodes. Don't ask me how I know that...
