I was listening to the CT40 show from 2/1/97, and noticed that while Casey identified the highest debut as Prince's "The Holy River," that was not the song that was played. It was another song from the same album, which apparently did hit the R&B chart. Anybody ever notice this?

Sure enough, it was "Somebody's Somebody" that was played instead of "The Holy River". This is the first instance I recall this happening on CT40. Of course, the AT40 from 1/6/1979 is well-documented, and I recently discovered this on the AT40 show from 9/9/2000 (mentioned in the "What Show Are You Listening To?" thread).
"The Holy River" is played on the following show, 2/8/1997.

Some AT40 copies of a circa 2010 AT40 show played a different Brian McKnight song instead of his "6-8-12" song.

I never knew "The Holy River" made it to a top 40 chart, if only radio airplay.
So we now know what Prince's official last top 40 hit likely was.
