Here are some interesting coincidence: Last Thursday, both Aretha Franklin & Elton John celebrated their birthdays. Well, the only artist who had duets with both of these artists is George Michael. George Michael had a duet in 1987, with Aretha with their No. 1 hit, "I Knew You Were Waiting", and then 5 years later in 1992, he had a duet with Elton and they hit No. 1 with the hit, "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me". To make this even more interesting, both Aretha and Elton had a duet with each other on a Top 20 hit song from 1989 called, "Through The Storm". Is that wild or what?

You know what that sounds like? Sounds like something you'd expect to read on Billboard's "Chart Beat" column by Fred Bronson.

Here is an interesting twist involving Aretha Franklin and Elton John: On the 12/19/70 BB chart (12/12/70 AT40). Elton John made his first AT40 appearance at #38 with "Your Song"
But did you know that one notch higher Aretha Franklin's cover of Elton's "Border Song " debuted at #37

I'd like to add another interesting twist mentioned above.
In the week ending 11-2-85 BB Chart, you would find Aretha Franklin debut at #39 with "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves", which is a duet with group Eurythmics. While also debuting below at #40 is Elton John with "Wrap Her Up", which features an uncredited vocal backing by George Michael.
Guess, what goes round, comes around, huh....
