At " Man From Yesterday" Wednesday (19) he's seen reading script for a (the group leader said) 1971 show. Who was with him at the recorder in this shot? I seem to recall they used a director in those early shows, and certainly had an engineer (Bill Hergenson* sticks in my head; *spelling fixes welcome)... Don B was taller than this guy. dL

Looks kind of like Tom Rounds, at least from other pictures I've seen of Tom.

Thanks for posting this vintage photo, Dale. On good authority, this photo was not taken at Watermark. In fact, the other guy in the photo is not Tom Rounds, Don Bustany, Ron Jacobs, Bill Hergonson or Ben Marichal. Plus, apparently they never used a mike like that at Watermark. Quite possibly, this photo might've been Casey in 1968 or 1969.
If the picture was taken during the late 60s, Casey's most recent radio station work at the time was with KRLA. But he had also ventured into voiceover work as well. Perhaps the other guy in the photo is a KRLA advertising executive or an ad client, with Casey preparing to record a radio commercial.
Looking closer, notice the one-channel, portable Ampex reel-to-reel tape recorder where the VU meter is at "0", the recorder's play/record switch is off, and it appears there's a fresh tape loaded that's never traveled thru a reel deck. If we could see what Casey was reading, that would likely solve the mystery. Was this a simulated recording session just for a photo opportunity?

The group leader was probably just glad to come up with a shot of Casey, and must not have cared about the details. (I know a few leaders, but this is not one of them.) That it could have just been a photo-op would not surprise me in the least. dL
