I found out on Facebook that Rihanna's "Love on the Brain" became her 30th career top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100. She now ranks #3 among the artists with the most top ten hits in Billboard history, beating Michael Jackson's 29 aND putting the King of Pop down to #4.
The way Rihanna is going, she could even beat out The Beatles or even Elvis Presley someday. How many more top ten hits would she need in order to beat The Beatles or Elvis Presley?

She has five to go to pass the Beatles, seven to go to pass Elvis, and nine to go to pass Madonna.

She has five to go to pass the Beatles, seven to go to pass Elvis, and nine to go to pass Madonna. According to Billboard, the leaders are 38 Madonna 34 Beatles 30 Rihanna 29 Michael Jackson These are for songs on the Billboard Hot 100, which started in 08/1958. That's why Billboard doesn't consider Elvis to be in the Top 4 - because his career started in 04/1956 (Elvis had his 14 first Top 10 hits before the Hot 100 started.)

This record is cool, but a bit suspect as it includes duets and featuring credits/collaborations. There's another topic on this board that discusses the rise in those. If you take away those, by my count, only has 24 top 10s as a lead artist. Still an impressive number but a bit lower down the totem pole.
If you give Michael Jackson credit for featuring vocals, he gets at least one more (Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me)
Rihanna no question, a talented artist and I wouldn't be upset if she broke Madonna's record.
