Charlie Van Dyke brought this up in the 11/1/86 show. There were several movies whose title was the same as a top 40 hit from the past. Might be 100 of these by now? Anyway, here are the 8 that he listed that were out in 1986.
Stand By Me * Blue Velvet Jumpin Jack Flash * Soul Man Peggy Sue Got Married That's Life Twist and Shout * Dancing in the Dark
* Top 40 hits in 1986 too.

Sweet Home Alabama, starring the wonderful actress, Reese Withersthingy.
(I knew that would get censored. Next time we go whale hunting, remind me to bring my harthingy. And the latest issue of National Lamthingy magazine.)

"Jack and Diane" was a #1 song by John Cougar Mellencamp in 1982, and also the title of a 2012 horror film. Ironically, the song was never featured in the film nor did the song inspire the film.

Then we have movie titles which were later top 40 hit titles: Silent Running & The Final Countdown Mike Rutherford named the song after the 1972 film Silent Running "because I remembered that film so well, and our song had a spacey feel to it." - Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from February 15, 1986. PS-A name extension was given when the song was chosen to appear in the 1986 movie On Dangerous Ground.
