Bumping this back up to mention a song that may or may not fit the category. In Joe Jackson's "Steppin' Out" it sorta sounds like someone other than Joe sings the chorus, and thus the title, but I can't be sure.

Even if it were, Joe sings "Steppin' Out tonight" at the end of the third verse, so that song wouldn't count.

Even if it were, Joe sings "Steppin' Out tonight" at the end of the third verse, so that song wouldn't count. For this song--and every one of Joe Jackson's that I can think of--I don't know that he ever used backup singers of any kind. In each of his hits, if there were any backing vocals, I believe they were done by Joe himself (this appears to have been the case in "Steppin' Out" as well). Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong about that though. I thought about this thread listening to the 5/29/71 show. Not only does Murray Head hold the AT 40 era record for time between his first and second song, he didn't sing the title on either "Superstar" or "One Night In Bangkok". The dude that sings the chorus on "One Night In Bangkok" is Swedish singer Anders Glenmark (perhaps a safe assumption that Glenmark had connections to Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus since all three were from Sweden?). In fact, Casey identifies Glenmark as the vocalist for the chorus in at least one of the shows that included "Bangkok", a song that fits this thread as well as any. woolebull, I always thought Robbie Nevil was singing at least *some* of the backing vocals on Wot's It To Ya." Now I need to find out if that is indeed the truth. I'm on a mission! I'm almost positive that Robbie Nevil sings the chorus in "Wot's It To Ya", and he certainly repeats the chorus after the initial singing of the title with the backing vocalists. I think you might be right about "C'est La Vie" and "Dominoes" however -- it sounds like the choruses of those songs might be all backing vocalists.

I'm surprised no one has made a Milli Vanilli joke on this thread yet

Welp, looking at my current picture I am using as my avatar I guess Lee Ritenour/ Eric Tagg would certainly be a part of this thread with "Is It You".

Listening to 7/21/84 today was a song I should have gotten without having to hear it. Actually he sings part of the title..."I'm Free (Heaven Helps The Man)" by Kenny Loggins.

In "Everybody" by Nicki Minaj f/Lil Uzi Vert, they never say the title. Every time it's heard, it's taken from the song it samples, "Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior.
